How to Hire a Go-to-Market Strategy Consultant
Hire a go-to-market (GTM) consultant with direct experience in your specific motion — product-led growth, sales-led growth, and channel/partnership-led growth require fundamentally different playbooks. A consultant whose background is enterprise sales-led GTM is often a poor fit for a self-serve SaaS product, and vice versa.

Comment évaluer un spécialiste
Questions à poser
Posez ces questions lors de toute consultation initiale pour rapidement distinguer les candidats solides des plus faibles.
1.What go-to-market motion would you recommend for my business, and why?
Pourquoi c'est important : A specific, reasoned recommendation — tied to your customer type, price point, and sales cycle — shows real diagnostic thinking. A generic answer that could apply to any company is a red flag.
2.How will we know within the first 90 days whether the GTM approach is working?
Pourquoi c'est important : A strong consultant defines concrete leading indicators (pipeline generated, activation rate, CAC by channel) upfront, rather than asking you to wait months before evaluating results.
3.Have you worked with companies at our stage before, and what were the outcomes?
Pourquoi c'est important : GTM strategy for a pre-revenue startup differs enormously from GTM strategy for a company scaling from $5M to $20M ARR. Stage-specific experience is a better predictor of fit than years of general experience.
